Sold On Living Dead (1 Cor. 6:20, Gal. 2:20, Luke 9:23-24)
“Let us begin, the worship of The Eternal One, The One True God, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is the first step towards knowledge. Fools, however, do not fear God and cannot stand wisdom or guidance.” Proverbs 1:7
The beauty of starting something anew is the feeling of having a clean slate. Nothing behind you to hold you back and nothing before, just exciting expectations of what is to come. It always reminds me of the clean slate I have in Jesus as I start each new day with Him in the pursuit of having the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
So “let us begin”, let’s start anew, let’s put ourselves in the starting gate of our race on the narrow road, positioning ourselves to live S.O.L.D. in Christ. Let’s ready our hearts and minds to receive and obey God’s Word so we can live out our scripture to “Worship The Living God, The Eternal One”.
We are reminded in this verse that this can only happen if we have reverent fear of The One True God. Not a fear, that God is out to get me and He is watching to catch me when I slip up in sin, but a fear that wants to honor and glorify our Holy Father. One where we stand in awe of The Majesty of our Lord. It’s a fear founded in Love. God’s Love for us and ours for Him and it births a profound allegiance “to live holy like He is Holy” (1 Peter 1:16), to live Sold On Living Dead.
For this to be realized in our lives, We must decide that His thoughts are above our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, Checkpoint One on our race. He’s God and we are not and His Wisdom and Guidance needs to be lived out in our lives despite our thoughts, feelings or circumstances. We die to them so we can live in Christ, knowing His Ways is best for us. We need to humble ourselves under His mighty Hand so He can lift us up into the life He has called us to, or we can choose to live like a fool. My prayer is we choose to live in reverent fear.
The promise land in Jesus awaits, but it starts with a first step:
I WILL LIVE IN REVERANT FEAR OF GOD, LIVING S.O.L.D. IN WORSHIP TO HIS TRUTH AND WAYS, BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHATS BEST FOR ME!
